    That’s not Socrates…it’s Plato on the left and Aristotle on the right. Socrates was Plato’s mentor, but he is not shown in Raphael’s School of Athens.

    Quite funny caption though.

    UMMM…… Except that the painting is of Plato and Aristotle, not Socrates.

    Both comments are correct; that’s Plato and Aristotle. However, Socrates is in the large fresco that this is a detail of : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_School_of_Athens Scroll down and you’ll see who’s who.
